Tiny Stars.

Dress: Thrifted H&M
Shoes: T.U.K
Jacket: Old, D.I.Y.
Bag and Hat: Forever 21

Hello everyone! Yes, I fully realize that I wear these boots in sooo many posts, but obviously I am madly in love with them, so get used to it. ;)

The dress I am wearing here is one that I found a few weeks ago while out thrifting at Goodwill! The brand is H&M.  I don't know what it is with me and my brilliant luck at finding quality H&M pieces at thrift stores, but I can't complain!  I have a few other H&M pieces that I have found at various thrift shops.  It is so satisfying when I score name brands secondhand.  Reuse and recycle, am I right?  Helping the planet one dress at a time.  Haha.  It is difficult to tell in the pictures but the print on the dress is actually a bunch of tiny black stars.  The shade is pale pink (almost white), and while I do not normally wear such a light color as my overall palette for an outfit, I decided that this dress was an exception because, well, it's adorable.  I opted for black accessories in this post to bring out the print of the dress and to also preserve the integrity of my 'rock & roll sweetheart' style that I tend to exude in most of my looks.  However I think the person who owned the dress before me had um... a bigger chest than I do hahaha.. so it falls a bit odd around that area, but I try to make up for it with better posture haha (I slouch way too much anyway).  I may have a tailor take it in a bit for me or maybe I'll just live with it.. it still looks super cute and more importantly, it is extremely comfortable.

Anyway, it was a typical Bay Area Spring day here in Oakland, being warm in the sun but a bit breezy in the shade, and my little staple jean jacket was the perfect touch in keeping me from getting too chilly.  I've had this jacket for years and years (and years).  Some of the studs have fallen off where I had originally placed them, but that's okay!  I have a million more studs that I can add to it.. the problem is that I am lazy.
Story of my life.

Shooting the photos today was more frustrating than normal.  The place I chose to take the pictures was adjacent to a very busy street; cars kept rolling by and people kept walking around me so it was difficult to relax, but I managed.  I just have to tell myself that it doesn't matter what anyone else is thinking about me.  All that matters is that I am doing what I love.  Life is about taking risks and leaving your comfort zone sometimes, and that is where creativity can flourish.

Thank you so much for reading!

Love to you all. =^.^=

  3. WOW! This post by far my favorite! Pushing publish is a persistent fear that plagues me. The very thing I want is want I don’t want to face. Facing off with the enemy reveals I’m my own worst!
