Denim Jacket: Old (very old)
Cropped Tee: Thrifted D.I.Y.
Shorts: Forever 21
I shot this outfit last week when I still had blue hair, well... the blue was practically nonexistent and the color faded to a kind of pale green.. like I had been in a chlorine filled swimming pool for too long haha. So while the original pictures turned out "okay", I decided to do a re-shoot with my new pink hair (and with a little more time to spare), and am happy to say that the pictures turned out a million times better with the second try. :) Thus the explanation as to why I took a week off from posting. Quality over quantity, as they say.
Anyway, I had been wanting to wear this little d.i.y. cropped tee on the blog since July. I found it in the men's section at Goodwill and had to have it immediately because of the print. Granted I have never been to Cuernavaca, Mexico, but I just loved the little yin yang design on the shirt and knew I could easily turn it into a crop top, so there ya go.
The rest of the outfit is pretty self explanatory to my style. It seems as though everyone in the fashion blogging world right now is doing a "back to school" themed post with what they deem to be back to school attire. I guess this would be my go to look, save for the fishnet tights (because we *still* live in a patriarchal world.. and always will). But if I were to modify this outfit to be more school appropriate, I would simply replace the fishnets with black opaque tights.
Honestly, I have been out of school for quite awhile now and I feel for those of you who are still in the trenches, trying to find yourselves and express exactly who you are with the constant fear of being ridiculed by your peers. I commend you. For those of you still dealing with all of that, let me tell you that while ridicule and judgement will always exist, it gets better, and so will you. Just please always be yourself, and wear whatever fills your heart and soul with confidence and joy. If people give you a second glance, be proud. Relish in being different.
Above all else, please always spread kindness no matter what, and never, ever, abandon who you are.
Love to you all. =^.^=
