Daisy Print Maxi Dress: Vintage
Boots: T.U.K. Footwear
Hello readers, if you're still out there. It's been quite the hiatus from this blog. I don't really know where to begin or what to say. I guess I'll just start by saying that in the year and a half or so of not posting, I have been transitioning into my new life in Portland, Oregon with my husband after moving here from Oakland, California last June. I suppose the reason I've taken forever to start blogging again is because I have been cultivating my new life here, finding my path, all the right corners and alleyways in between, and well, simply living. I've missed this though, more than I can express in a few paragraphs.
The time off from this hobby has been a time to reflect. My goals and ambitions are not what they used to be, and I have changed so much through the thick of it all. My blog is no longer a means to gain attention from fast fashion vendors or social media queens, but more for my passion as a vintage and thrift shop buyer; finding pieces here and there to sell in my online shop via Depop. As the resurrection of this blog hopefully continues, so will my motives: to promote and resell secondhand pieces, and to perhaps inspire others to shop ethically and/or secondhand whenever and wherever they can. I have always had a passion for clothes, and this passion is now more meaningful to me than ever.. because it is for a cause I can get behind.
The dress featured in this post is one I came across while perusing my local Goodwill here in Portland. I have hemmed the sleeves and sewn some parts that had holes, and added my own accessories in styling around it in order to show others that you can bring any old garment you come across at a thrift shop to life, so long as you keep your personal style at the heart of it all.
(P.S. I'm wearing some daisy print bloomers underneath the dress for an added touch/room to move freely and comfortably without scandal.. that way I can have the dress unbuttoned as much as I desire hehe.)
I'm not sure where to go from here, but I am sure that this new spawning of my blog is alive and ready to move forward, and I hope that after all of this time you will be right there with me,
just as you always have.
Thank you so much for reading. It's good to be back.
All the love forever and always,
